Social Studies
The goal of the new Social Studies curiculum is to educate our young children about their role as a Canadian citizen. It is designed to enable students to aquire the skills, knowledge and values necessary to understand Canada and the world in which they live. It examines the past, the present and looks toward the future.
In each grade there are three to four clusters. In our multi-level classroom we alternate grade clusters every year, so by the time a child has completed Grade 2 he/she will have been exposed to each cluster in every grade.
