Turtle Mountain Adult Education Centre
ALC offers a variety of high school courses. Our programs are flexible so as to provide learning opportunities to adults with busy schedules. We offer both teacher-led classes and independent courses. A highly trained and diversified staff is available to provide one-on-one assistance. We have a continuous intake registration program. The cost is $125 for the school year.

Program & Courses

Mature Student High School Diploma

To qualify for and complete the program you must meet all of the following criteria:

  • be at least 19 years of age prior to completion of the course(s) for which you are is registering
  • be out of school for at least six (6) months
  • have not obtained a high school diploma
  • complete eight credits: four (4) Grade 12 credits, one (1) English and one (1) Math
  • take at least one high school credit course with TMAEC
Prior Learning Assessment Recognition (PLAR)

PLAR is a process used to identify, document, assess and recognize skills and knowledge people have learned throughout their lives. The goal of PLAR is to be able to grant credit for high school level courses based on a student's prior learning.

Skill Upgrading Program

Grade 12 graduates are eligible for four (4) post graduation credits

This program assists students needing pre-requisite courses for post-secondary education or employment opportunities.
